Distance learning course of 9 lessons
If you work in health care your activities are constrained by the legal framework within which you work. The reasons for wanting to understand the legal aspects of health care are numerous, and range from wanting to avoid the increasing litigation in the health care system and ensuring correct procedures be followed, to knowing the rights of employees and employers. The aim of this course is to provide a basic understanding of the main laws which underpin health care and the work of the professional. Furthermore, knowledge of the law brings with it an understanding of its strengths and deficiencies. This empowers professionals and managers alike, enabling them to press for changes where appropriate.
For this course you will be required to purchase the textbook:
Speller's Law Relating to Hospitals (Finch, 1994).
